01   What is AUSDRISK?
02   Can anyone complete the questionnaire?
03   Who can see my score?

Q:

What is AUSDRISK?

  A:

The AUSDRISK is the acronym for the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Tool that was released in July 2008 as part of an Australian Government, State and Territory health initiative to assess a person's risk of developing Type 2 diabetes within the next five years. The AUSDRISK was developed by the International Diabetes Institute (Baker IDI), based on the Finnish Type 2 Diabetes Risk Score - or FINRISC - and has been adapted for the Australian population.

Q:

Can anyone complete the questionnaire?

  A:

The AUSDRISK has been adapted to the Australian population so if you were not born or reside in Australia your results may not accurately reflect your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Individuals aged 40-49 years of age who return a score of 15 or higher (high risk) are eligible to participate in a subsidised Lifestyle Modification Program. Ask your doctor for more information.

Q:

Who can see my score?

  A:

The information you enter on this site remains confidential. Upon completion of the questionnaire your score is immediately displayed for review. If you choose, your doctor or health practitioner can gain access to your score. Please see our Privacy Policy and Legal Notices for more information.
